"Great Zurich Hotel"
Stayed at the Hotel Adler during the last week of August and the first few days of September 2005. We chose this hotel based on its very reasonable rates (for Zurich) as well as Tripadvisor reviews and found the comments regarding this hotel to be accurate. The location is both a positive and a negative. The hotel is a short 10 minute walk from the Bahnhof (train station) and ideally situated in old town close to cafes, restaurants, entertainment and shopping on Bahnhofstrasse. However, given the fact that it is situated in the heart of Niederdorfstrasse, the entertainment center, it does get very loud during the night and early morning hours. Generally, this is not a problem as the rooms/windows are well insulated and soundproof.
Breakfast, which is included in the rate, was well presented and very good. It included the normal European fare of coffee/tea, juices, cold cuts, cheeses, breads, cereals, pastries, fruit, yogurt and jams.
Staff was very courteous, helpful and attentive and housekeeping was always completed in a very timely manner. |
