"A Wonderful Weekend Stay"
This hotel was in the perfect location for my family, right in the center of everything; shopping, tour sites, the lake, fine dining. You cannot get to the doors of the hotel by your own car, you will have to take a taxi. But this hotel is simple, quaint, and convienient. The train station is in walking distance and the Musee Suisse is close by as well. Great hotel.

"A wonderful hotel"
This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Everything worked perfectly, and the little touches like the chocolate on your pillow each day and the fruit in the entrance were lovely. The food was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful. It was very pleasant to end each day in the hotel bar on the first floor. It's a pity most European hotel TVs have CNN News rather than BBC World, but you can't have everything!
We had a room looking onto the street, but did not find it particularly noisy - perhaps we were just lucky. The Old Town is great - lots of atmosphere and byways to explore, but it feels safe somehow, unlike other such districts. Once you discover the tram network (by the river at the end of the street), and get a Zurich card from the main station, you can go anywhere free.
This is very useful since Zurich IS wickedly expensive - food especially. There is, however, a very good self-service restaurant on the top floor of Manora department store on Bahnhofstrasse where you can eat well for a reasonable price.
We loved Zurich, and a large part of it was because of the Wellenberg. We would definitely stay there again.

"Great Place"
Loved staying here. Very charming. Nicely furnished rooms and great toiletries. Staff is great. Arrived from the USA early, but Lufthansa lost our luggage. The staff helped us make phone calls to help locate our luggage. They even found us in the breakfast room when the bags finally arrived. I would definitely stay there again. Great location.

"Great location "
The Wellenberg in Zurich (Switzerland) is located in the old central part of the town. Its very close to the lake and the main train station. Breakfast is quite good and the hotel is very clean.

"Wonderful gem and great location"
my friend and i stayed at the wellenberg after trying to find a hotel when our original hotel was not what it had claimed... we walked in and were warmly greeted and given an excellent rate for our 3 night stay.... we were looking for a queen or king bed room and were concerned about noise from the square outside, and so they took us up to two different rooms that they had available and allowed us to pick our room... the room that we chose was very spacious and even though was on the square, was quiet with the windows closed... the hotel had a cooling system which we didn't even need because at night the room was cool and during the day we just left the windows open to cool the room off... their breakfast buffet in the mornings was phenomenal... the hotel is right in the old town of zurich and is located within walking distance of most of the sites to see in zurich... everyone was extremely nice and very helpful with tour information, restaurant suggestions, and general info... would stay again when in zurich...

"Excellent location and professionally run."
I just returned from a three week visit to Switzerland and France. I stayed in about half a dozen places. The Wellenberg was my first hotel and it was the best. The location in the old town was near all the restaurants and a charming, historical part of town. But our hotel room faced a back part which was quiet and had a garden view. The room was large (by European standards). The best part was the enormous breakfast in the hotel which was generously supplied with eggs, breads, cereals, fruits, yogurts, coffee, juices, jams and sausages. They didn't skimp on food like most hotels. The staff was extremely kind and courteous. For example, when the front desk heard us coming down the stairs, they stood up and greeted us. Zurich in general is an urbane, clean and sophisticated city which retains its Swiss standards of fine transportation, education, culture, architecture, environmental excellence and politeness but also knows how to have a good time.
